Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to everything you download from https://www.motifator.net (“the Site”), operated by Templatemaker.nl, registered in the Netherlands ("we", "us", "I", "me"). By downloading a file or buying a license you agree to these terms.

1. What we offer

  • Free Images: PNG images of about 1 megapixel that anyone can download for free, without an account.
  • Licensed Files: SVG, PDF and high-resolution PNG files, generated when you redeem a License Key you bought.

2. Free Images (CC BY-NC 4.0)

Free Images are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC 4.0). In short:

  • You may share and adapt the image for non-commercial purposes.
  • You must give credit, for example: "Image by motifator.net, CC BY-NC 4.0".
  • You may not use it commercially. That includes selling it, putting it on products for sale, or using it in advertising or on a monetised page or channel.

The full legal text at the link above is what applies. If you want to use an image commercially, or need a higher resolution, buy a license. (See next section).

3. Licensed Files

3.1 Buying and redeeming

  • You buy a license through our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, which sells the license to you as merchant of record. You receive a License Key.
  • You enter the key on the Site to generate and download your files. One License Key can be redeemed once and produces one image in all offered formats (SVG, PDF and PNG).
  • Save your files when you download them. Once the key is redeemed we cannot generate the same image again or re-issue the download. If generation fails for a technical reason, the key is released and you can try again.
  • A License Key is personal to the buyer and may not be resold or passed on to others.

3.2 What you may do (the license)

When you redeem a key, we grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual license to use the resulting files, for personal and commercial purposes, including:

  • print (posters, cards, books, packaging, signage);
  • websites, apps, presentations, social media and video;
  • products you make or sell that include the image as a design element (for example prints, apparel, mugs) up to 1000 (one thousand) units;
  • work for your clients, where the client receives the finished work and not the file on its own.

The license covers the person or company that bought it. If you are a company, your employees may use the files for the company.

3.3 What you may not do

  • Resell, share, sublicense or distribute the files themselves, whether as they are or lightly modified. This includes stock sites, templates, "asset packs" and file-sharing sites.
  • Offer the image as the main thing being sold, for example as a downloadable wallpaper, print file or digital product.
  • Use the image as a trademark, logo or brand mark, or try to register it as one.
  • Use the files to train or fine-tune machine learning models or to build datasets.
  • Claim to be the creator of the underlying generator or imply that we endorse you or your products.
  • Use the files for anything unlawful, defamatory, hateful or otherwise harmful.

You do not have to credit us, though we appreciate it.

3.4 No exclusivity

Images are produced by a randomised generator. Although a repeat of the same image is very unlikely, we do not promise that your image is unique or that nobody else has or will receive the same or a similar one.

4. Ownership

We keep all rights in the generator, the software, the Site, and the Licensed Files and Free Images, except for the rights expressly granted to you here and in the CC BY-NC 4.0 license. A license is a permission to use, not a transfer of ownership.

5. Payment, delivery and refunds

  • Prices, taxes and payment are handled by Lemon Squeezy. Their terms apply to the purchase itself.
  • Licensed Files are digital content delivered immediately after you redeem your key. By redeeming the key you request immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose your statutory right of withdrawal once delivery begins.
  • If you have a problem with the files, contact us within 14 days and we will try to fix it.
  • If a purchase is refunded or charged back, the License Key is disabled and the license ends. You must stop using files that came from that key.

6. Termination

We may end your license if you materially break these terms. If that happens you must stop using the files and delete them. Sections 4, 7 and 9 continue to apply afterwards.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The files are provided "as is". We do not guarantee that they will suit your specific purpose, or that the Site will be available without interruption. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the license in question, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law, or liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Privacy

The Site runs on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany), located in Helsinki (Finland) which we manage ourselves.

Purchases: Licenses are sold by Lemon Squeezy, United States, which acts as merchant of record. Your payment and customer details (such as name, email address and payment information) are collected and processed by Lemon Squeezy under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details. Lemon Squeezy shares limited order information with us (such as your email address) so that we can help with support requests and refunds.

Redeeming a key: When you enter a license key on this site, we send it to Lemon Squeezy's license service to check that it is valid and to mark it as used. We do not store your key or the files generated for you.

Technical data: Like any web server, ours may briefly record technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of your request, for security and troubleshooting.

9. Changes, law and contact

  • We may update these terms. The version that applied when you bought your license continues to apply to that license.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
